Question Will DIAC take back some of the trades in CSL, which were removed on March 16th revis

Hi All,

Statement copied from May 12th update -

"Note, that under the priority arrangements, fewer trades-level occupations
will be granted a visa in 2009–10."

Is the above statement pointing to trades which are already there in CSL, or the ones which were removed from CSL on March 16th update ?
Hope DIAC is going to review CSL after July 1st and add some more trade occupations in it....

Please could someone give me any information on this...

Cheers

I don't think that there is any firm info on this so anything we say would be pure speculation. No-one knows what the gov will do next, and it probably depends on the stimulus package and any recovery etc.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful,
Karen

I believe they won't be increasing numbers for trades this year or next. Basically the intent of the reduction is:

1. If we give a visa will the visa holder gain employment?
2. Will that employment have a significant affect due to competition with Australians for fewer jobs?

In good economic times Immi increases intake and skilled occupation requirements and reduces during bad economic times.

people actually dont understand this point tht they are trying to put across.. the trades which are taken off the list is for the benefit of those planning to migrate under that skillset. basically they know, there are no jobs and dont want ppl to be unemployed which often leads to crime.
the economic crisis is expected to start getting better by september-november, hopefully..

Hi Anj,

As per my understanding DIAC aim at the moment is to equally place people in
different states / territories

"Recession" is just a shield for them to implement this.

This is the major reason for prioritizing Sponsored category.

Also, this is the only reason even though trades were removed from CSL,
they are still present in many states Demand List.

Hope things will get better by September - November.

Cheers,

Ausdreams
