Seems pretty obvious:
You get to live, work, and retire in Australia. You also get full access to the social services and Medicare systems of Australia.

With PR you get to work and live anywhere you want in Australia and unless you break the law they can't send you back 'home'.

That's why we went for PR visa rather than a temp visa.
