Default Offshore working-Visa questions

Hi,

My boyfriend and I would like to permanently move to Australia, but I am unsure if we would get a Visa.
My boyfriend currently works for a UK company offshore and if we moved to Oz he could stay with them and they would fly him back to the ship every 4 weeks (rota). Would we be able to get a visa if he stays working for this company or would he need to get employment with an Australian offshore company?

Any help would be appreciated.

Jo

Hi Jo,

I think you'll be better off speaking to some agents about this since they may be able to find a way that you can get in.

Is it possible to get in on what you do rather than what your boyfriend does?

Another member has this issue some time ago and I don't think that they found a way in. Her husband worked on oil rigs...

Australia is really tightening up on restrictions and since there have been more reports that unemployment is going up they really want to make sure that they are letting people in who are required and will add to the economy.

The agent who posts most frequently on here is Veronika (SOMV) and you can contact her through her signature.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards,
Karen
