Default Time limit on skills assesment

HI All

New here and just starting again on our Visa.

I got my Skills assessment done, and passed, in the middle of 2007, and can proove that I am still in the same trade. Is there a time limit on the skills assessment? or am I going to have to do it again?

Any help would be much apreciated.

Thanks, Steve

Hi there Steve,

Don't know which assessing body you used but hope this might be of help.

Here's the VETASSES website, look at "Re-issue of assessment results" - about 2/3s of the way down. It does say that the assessment doesn't expire but DIAC may want an updated version which they will issue.

Qualification Assessment

Here's the TRA website, on quick inspection can't find anything on expiration, but it should be hidden away somewhere: workplace.gov.au - FAQ - for people migrating to Australia

Skill assessment results are valid for 12 months So I am afraid you will have to to it again

Oh really? Darn it. It did say on the VETASSES website that it didn't expire. Is that DIAC saying they won't accept a skills assessment taken more than a year ago?

Thanks again for the replies.

We decided to get an agent involved and she said that the TRA assessment has no time limit on it so thankfully we are fine

Thanks, Steve
