457 to 175

Hi There

I am thinking of applying for 175 (currently defacto on my partners 457) so that I have my independence and greater flexibility re job applications/ staying in Australia.

Can you one advise on the pros/cons of me doing this?

Also does anyone know how this will affect my partners 457 (if at all)?

Hi there,

Have you checked that your occupation is on the SOL and that you've got enough points?

Yep - I am an accountant and under 35 so think I should pass on the points front although I am concerned about the english language test - new thread being posted right now....

If you think you've got all the relevant criteria to apply for the 175 then go for it! It will not affect your partners visa.

There are quite a few members who have done the IELTS tests, I'm sure they will be able to give you some pointers. Also do a search, you should find loads of info.
