Ok it's ridiculous, there's hardly any crime here - well apart from graffiti, which is rife!

I'm just not used to this

To be honest with you, I never saw Scotland as a place with high crime. I thought it'd be similar to most areas of Australia.

If it makes you feel any better, Melbourne just came out of a gangland war where 30 something people were killed. Does that count?

I'm watching the current underbelly series and it seems quite bad, but 30 something though terrible is nothing compared to London let alone the rest of the UK

No I'm not. I'm sorry. I guess that shows how ignorant I am But I'm doing some research on it now to educate myself. When violent countries come up I always thought South Africa, Papua New Guinea, Jamaica etc etc

Haha I was telling a Canadian about out gangland wars in Melbourne, and I was like "Yeah 30 people were killed over a ten year period" and he laughed at me He's like "That happens in a month in Vancouver or Edmonton!"

Anyway, ignoring my ignorance, I'm glad you feel safe in Australia.

that sounds so different from how things are in India. there is hardly any gang war that we hear of here now. but we do hear about the terror strikes/blasts every now and then which is so depressing. The terror strikes are so often that small timer gangwars are never talked about/published in news.
