Hi Weelee,

Do you mind if I ask you something.... your news sounds exciting but im a bit confused (as i dont understand the process) as to what you have been confirmed.

I am currently having my skills being assessed and then we plan to apply for 176 NSW sponsorship. If it comes back as a positive assessment does this mean that I have been approved for NSW sponsorship or that my qualifications are approved the then we make the main application to see if we are eligible for sponsorship.

At what stage can you say that you definately will be getting a visa? .... When making the main application once you have satisfied all requirement?

thanks and well done for your progress

Cheers

Karl

Hi Karl,

We have been through a 3 point process

1, skills assessment with tra without a positive response everything stops

2, apply to victoria for state sponsorship came back positive today

3, main application lodged now just waiting for a case worker.

thankfully my trade is on the eligibility list even after it was culled by the state of victoria which allowed us to apply for a 176 visa.

I hope you get a positive skills assessment then you can lodge your application for state sponsorship, then its time for the main application.
Even if you get a positive skill assessment you are not guaranteed a sponsorship from NSW but keep positive all good things come to those who are patient it is a slow painful process but it is a great feeling when it all comes together.

BTW what is your skill/occupation and have you checked on the NSW website if they have an eligibility list and if your skill is listed.

I will only really believe we have been successful when I get the passport stamped or an e-mail telling us visa granted

good luck

weelee

Hi Weelee

Thanks for that, I think you are right, the time to break out the bubbly is when you actually have the visa

We are applying via a agent. I am a qualified accountant and could apply for 175 as accountant or 176 as financial advisor, which I have been working for the past 5 years. Agent has sent accountant and financial advisor qualifications for assessment but feels that the NSW state sponsorship is the best route, assuming it comes back positve...fingers crossed!

cheers

Karl
