It already has, "Freeview" is more a of a marketing program rather than something new and substantial. It's mainly a ploy to prevent people from going over to Foxtel too quickly, once you read the details it's not lots of new channels (more like 2-3 new ones and more of the same in HD).

Default is it as rubbish as the uk

Hi there

Is freeview as rubbish as it is in the uk in that you can only access depending where you live and at best only access very limited channels. Also are there any uk channels that can be accessed?? my cousin lives in brissie and has told me 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' is shown but 6 months behind. Any info greatly received from a tv addicted brit!!!! actually have heard its rubbish but need to hear it from the horses mouth..so to speak.

Thankyou Lisa

Freeview..........Pile of pooh!

I thought we were going to get 'different' channels, but it appears it's a variation on a theme of SBS, ABC, 7,9 and 10.

We have foxtel as other half is a football nut and can't live without watching the premiership! In general UK tv is a lot better than Oz. However, they do have lots of UK and American programs they are just behind and old. They have a channel called UKTV so we get to watch Silent Witness, Eastenders (3 months behind). There is also BBC HD. They also show lost and 24 but that is on channel 7 which is not on foxtel yet. The only program we have found which has caught up is Top Gear!

They're not even going to bother to give Freeview to us yet but it doesn't sound as if we're missing much!
