Default Questions on my degree & ACS

Hi Guys,

Let me first congratulate all of u for this wonderful forum which gives advice to novice people like me in the field of residency queries.

I am sure you all can help me out. My query is:

I am 28 (turned 28 in nov 2008) and came to melbourne in Sep 2008 for MBA course. I found out that MBA would not give me 60 points on SOL list, so i chnaged my course to double degree MBA + MISM. According to this i will be qualified as Computer professional and can apply to ACS for my assessment and can also have 60 points on SOL list. Also i have to apply for PR before i turned 30 so that i dont lose onto my age points. Although this new degree is of 2.5years but i plan to finish it off by May 2009 by taking subjects in winter and summer terms. Now my new eCOE says course commencing Mar 2008 and ending May 2010. I am totally confused as although this double degree is registered as 2.5years course on cricos site, my eCOE says it is 15months (including 4 subjects which i did in MBA and which are common for this degree). As per Immigration site i need to have atleast 16months full time study. If u see totally my full time study will be sep 2008 to May 2010 but i am confused as per new eCOE. Will immigration people will consider my one semester of MBA or not. If not what should i do to rectify it.

I have to apply to ACS BY june 2010 so that i get assessment done on time and could apply for PR before i turn 30 in nove 2010.

Please help me out

Hi Amadeus,

Welcome to the forum. I moved your post to a new thread since you may have follow up questions....

I assume that you're applying under group C of the ACS guidelines so that you don't need any work experience?

I think you need to clarify with the Uni exactly how long the course is for and then contact an agent to see what they say. We have several agents on the forum - the most recent poster being SOMV (you can contact her through the link in her signature).

Let us know how you get on....

Good luck!

Regards,
Karen
