Hi I have heard that you have to pay £1500 to go on a course to prove that you are in that trade? is that true. thanks

Not sure if it depends on the trade - my husband is a gardener and he didn't have to do any sort of course at all.

I know that brickies have to do a course but I don't know how much it costs. If you do a search on the forum I think this has come up before....

hi mate,

i've just started my visa app and yes you do have to sit a skills test, me being a bricky have to pay the oz government $1500 not £ just to show i am a bricklayer, even though i have advanced craft certs etc and being on the trowel for 22 years! we are using an agent to sort ours out soon here are the details if your interested? her name is Lara and her email is Lara@thinkingaustralia.com
