Default bringing our own car?

Hi all

can anyone suggest the best thing? we are a family of 5 I am a bricky and we have 2 cars and a van over here in the uk at the moment and we have looked at the cars in oz for sale (i like the ute's my mrs hates them lol) and we are hoping to move next year to melbourne, like i said we have looked at vehicles in oz but they seem to be a lot more expensive than in the uk and we are thinking of shipping the 2 cars over with us, has anyone done this already? did it work out for the best?

cheers all,

steve

Hi Steve,

If you do a search this has been covered before.....

Check out the 'Importing vehicles' link in the 'PLEASE READ...' sticky post towards the top of the forum and
VicRoads : VicRoads for Victoria

We brought over a classic car and had no idea how tough it would be getting is on the road because it's a classic (search on Mustang if you want to know more about that).

Regards,
Karen

Hi Steve,

The general consensus of opinion is that importing a motor vehicle isn't worth it. It's hassle, you've got import charges etc to pay.
