Default What's the best way to do it!!!????

I am a joiner, my wife is a teacher. We are looking to make the leap and move out to Australia. Is it best to look for sponsorship or go for a permanant visa? As both our jobs are on the skills list, could we just get a working holiday visa, hop on a plane and look for a job when we get there? It's all such a big decision - we don't want to do something we will regret!!! Please help!!!!:c onfused:

Hi,

Might be wrong but a working holiday is for 18 - 30 year olds you dont mention if you are in that catagory.

Sponsership is the best way but can be difficult to obtain.

Speak to an agent they will give you a consultation for free GoMatilda is linked to this forum

Good luck

As weelee mentioned working holiday visas are only 18 - 30 so if you don't fit into that category then you'll need to look for another one.

Have you read through the visas and been through the wizard? There's a link in the visa section of the 'PLEASE READ....' sticky post towards the top of this forum.

I would interview several agents since first consultations are free and see what they say knowing all your details - some agents on the forum are SOMV, Alan Collett etc.

Sponsorship is usually temporary, only available for certain skill sets (those in demand), can take a while to find and you have to live in a certain area. However with employer sponsorship you do get a job.

For independent skilled visa you have to pass a points test (see the same 'PLEASE READ...' sticky post) and it takes longer than a sponsorship visa but you get to work at what you want and live where you want.

The 'best' visa will depend on your circumstances and what you prefer.

Regards,
Karen
