Look at all homes.com.Au or Gumtree.com.au domain.com.Au for sharing

We found a short term room thru airbnb, stayed there and it was good. suggest you to check it out. you can book the place before u land in oz.
Before moving here, we had also used gumtree, but honestly didnt find it much help as we didnt get any replies.

Probably the best place to look at would be gumtree.com.au. However, you'll not be able to contact the house tenants because Gumtree hides the contacts numbers if you try to access their site from outside Australia.

You could decide which places you want to contact and send me the Gumtree URLs. I'll open them and give you the contact numbers.

How much luggage are you going to be carrying with you? Do you have kids who'll be travelling with you?

How did you contact the house tenants? Gumtree does not display contact information if you access it outside Australia.

@diveshpremdeep - I will be carrying the maximum limit (40K each) luggage with us, we don't have kids yet.

In that case, why don't you search for house shares on Gumtree? Send me the Gumtree URLs of all house share ads you're interested in and I'll get you their contact numbers.
First-timers to Australia (including families) normally start out with house shares since it is cheaper. As you get accustomed to life here and get a job, you can always move out into your own independent pad when you feel like it.

@ diveshpremdeep - Thank you so much for your reply, Yes i am trying in gumtree only, I am able to find the houses that are available from June itself. But as you know i am coming on August 12th, I assume its little early to check on the site, as they will not keep the room vacant until i m in OZ.

That is the reason i am trying to find someone who is willing to share his flat/house through this forum.

No luck till now

No worries. You could resume your search on Gumtree a week before you travel. There will always be a few places that will be available.
I don't know if anyone has actually managed to share a house with another user on this site. My advice would still be to wait till around a week before you travel and start searching on Gumtree. Gumtree is, in my experience, THE BEST place to find shared accommodation.
Getting shared accommodation is not a very big deal in Australia. Many people opt for it because of the substantial savings in rent.
