Default Immigration and visas

Hi Australian Expats
I'm kind of at the start of my journey to move away from the UK and would ge grateful for a bit of advice.

Re: Employment in Australia. Do I need to have a job before I can move out there. So things start off with a working permit and then progress for a more permanent stay? Or do the immigration people look at other things such as savings etc.

I ask as I would like to set up a new business when I move away. Ideally an on-line business but possibly doing some IT contracting work also. I have some savings that I would invest in the business and would also buy a property. Another question - would I get a mortgage easily if this were my plan???

Hi

There are lots of different Visa options for moving to Australia - in your case you could possibly go for the Business Visa.

You should be able to get all the information you need here:-

Department of Immigration and Citizenship

But in answer to your question.............NO.....you dont always have to have a job before arriving - in fact most people dont.

Good luck with your journey. If theres anything I can help with just ask.
