G'day Jack,
Just a comment...in Australia..they all kick back and have a few stubbies, enjoy bbqs and the 'silly' season of Christmas and NY, this stretches on into January..it is holiday time..almost nothing gets done in Dec and Jan...have patience, your visa will come through, I know how tough it can be waiting....you should hear soon.

I am not sure where you are emigrating from but if it is the northern hemisphere, US, Canada, UK, then just think about how much government work gets done in July and August and you will get what I am saying. It is just that alot of people take their vacations at this time as kids are off school etc so there are less employees there to process the visas....it may happen soon tho, do not give up hope. I waited 11 months in total for my visa...the last part, actually filing for the visa took 2 months..Sept and Oct in 2006. Jo

I'd say that they are just now catching up with delayed processing due to the Christmas and NY break.

I would give it one more week and then try to contact someone. Did you receive a confirmation email when you lodged your application? If so then you can use that email to send them a gentle reminder.

Cheers,
Veronika
