Question Visa activation

Hi, when you finally get your pr visa through do you have to enter australia and then leave and re-enter to activate it? Or can you enter and stay indefinately?

u just need to enter to validate it. u do not need to enter and then leave and enter again.

Hi there,

Depends on which visa you have, but generally you are given a first date of entry when you receive your visa. You either have to validate or move permanently over by that date. If you validate, you then have 5 years in which to make the move over.

Thats your choice. (you just have to suffer the two years to get your citizenship)

If you move over AFTER 1st July 2007 then it's now FOUR years until citizenship:

Yep that's what we're assuming for us too so we are looking to go for citizenship in July 2009 since we will have been in the country 2 years then
