Default Free domestic flight if you have an international one

Hi there,

I was wondering is it still the case if you book an international return flight from London to Sydney for example with Qantas would they still give you one free internal (domestic) flight within Australia?

I remember backpacking in 2000 and I went to Australia from the UK via Malaysian airlines and they gave us a free domestic flight?

Or is it not the case anymore!!??

Alistair

I would have thought that any details would be on the Qantas website - have you checked there?

Qantas.com

I remember the offer but we don't tend to fly with Qantas since it doesn't stop on the way in the places where we want to stop. We usually fly Malaysian or Singapore (Emirates were also good but pricey the last time we needed a flight).

Regards,
Karen

They'd surely advertise that. But I think the general answer is No.

Don't despair however, lots of cheap fares around these days.

I would subscribe to the following airlines mail lists:
QANTAS (Qantas.com)
Virgin Blue (Virgin Blue Home)
Jetstar (Cheap flights - Jetstar Airways)
Tiger (Tiger Airways)

My favourite agent in AU (they put all the fares in one e-mail whenever there's a sale, which is every week these days):
Best Flights (Australian Travel Agent : Best Flights Online Travel Agency Australia).

If you are going to change airlines when you reach AU be sure to check out their baggage policies before you book, some of them do charge extra for baggage.

Also if you are arriving in SYD then the domestic terminal is a bus/train ride from the International terminal.

Good luck
