Default Suburbs and schools in Sydney

Likely to moving in Feb next year to sydney. I am wanting to know what are some good state primary schools in either lower Northshore to beaches on Northshore. What suburbs are recommended. We will rent initially and where will be based on the good schools. Our rental expectations are $1000pw +.
cheers

Hi There:

I drive through the North Shore everyday (from the Northern Beaches to North Ryde) and I've seen schools mostly near these suburbs (and they're very nice suburbs).

Wahroonga
Turramurra
St. Ives
Gordon
Pymble

I think $1000 pw is very doable in all of those locations.

Check out realestate.com.au to find out the rentals available. And when you read ads they will often mention if they are close to schools.

If you are interested in the Northern Beaches then I'd recommend suburbs like:
Beacon Hill
Allambie Heights
Dee Why
Curl Curl

Pretty good (I'm biased as I live in one of those beach suburbs ). Manly tends to be the busiest, touristy and has the Ferry to the CBD, but because of that has the most restaurants on the Beaches. Wonderful beach. But for families I prefer the other beaches on the Peninsula (Freshwater, Curl Curl, Dee Why, Narrabeen). You can't really go wrong living in any of the Beach suburbs as that is the major attraction for most people living on the Peninsula. And Wahroonga isn't that far North, the attraction for Wahroonga is more park like, large houses and a train line (none of the Beaches suburbs have train line), Wahroonga falls into North Shore. You can be further North if you live in the Northern Beaches (all the way upto Palm Beach which is where Sydney ends on the Northeast 'corner').

If you dont want the price tag of th beach suburbs you can go about 15 inland to suburbs like Frenchs Forest Belrose Davidson Forestville
Close to beaches but in the National Park very leafy lots of birds good schools and a safe area.
Houses 600 Thousand to 1.5 Million
rent about 600 to 1000 a week for a decent sized house
Mostly detached and many have pools
No direct link into city unless you catch bus 45 to I Hr or bus to Chatswood and train.
[solicitation removed by moderator] I live and work in the area.
