Default many irish living in brisbane?us in melbourne

hi, myself my husband and nearly 2 year old have migrated over here 3 months ago to melbourne. we got the sponsership and awaiting resendicy which we hope to have by january. now thinking about moving up to brisbane as steve has great opportunities up there in the construction industry. when we get residnecy he will get the ball rolling to set up himself.
we lived in brisbane before, 5 years ago only 25 then care free and no baby, so all new again, wondering where to live, what suburbs is good.
we were thinking about kenmore 10 km from the city or chapel hill, fig tree pocket etc...
wondering is there irish communities up there or meet up groups etc....
i like it in melbourne but it is so big and spread out. we have been out on the beer few times but headed into pjs in the city, met few couples around our age, most were just back packers early 20s,
any advice, on where to live, irish community
not looking to live in a country within a county but it is nice to meet your own.
if anyone needs advice on melbourne i would be happy to give it, as i have done the moving, etc.. got the baby sitter who we love, take her to occassional care, which is great 10 dollars an hour and few hours a week just ring up and ask for the times you want etc....
just to let you know anyone in ireland thinking is it a good move to come over the answer is yes, it is just fantastic for kids to , the governement do so mcuh here

Hi, Jella,

Me, my hubby and a 2y/o are living in Galway at the moment, looking to relocate to Melbourne by the end of next year.
Currently searching information on nice suburbs for families online. Do you have any advice? I like Mentone (had a look on google street view). which suburb do you live? Do you like it?
Good luck with your Brisbane move.

Priscilla

Hi my husband and I are 57 and 62 years old, I would love to return to australia, I got married in australia when I was 18 to my husband but returned home because of homesickness, I would love to return but am sure we are too old to be considered. Can anyone tell me what the chances are, I have family in Perth, but they are nephews, does that count? My husband and I are now retired and would only be buying a property and retiring
