Im currently serving in the British army and would like to join the Australian army, can anyone point me in the right direction and also tell me how long the actual proccess takes.

Have you checked the defence force website at Australian Army

I would have a chat with an agent (with have 4 on the forum - pc, Alan Collett, SOMV and Liana Allen) since this is a more unusual request - saying that I think someone asked about it before if you do a search through the forum.

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

It says on the website that "You'll need to be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency Status with the intention of gaining Australian citizenship once you are eligible."

As karen said, contact an agent and they will be able to give you all the relevant info needed.

I think the requirements vary by service. So I would first contact the service you want to join and chat with their recruitment officers. Then after you have a path discuss with a Migration agent.

Matey, go and see your unit HR Clerk / Chf Clerk. They will point you in the right direction about how to transfer from British Army to Oz Army. I am in the Navy and am trying to go down this road myself
