Smile Civil Engineer CDR

Hello Team,

Need some help in preparing CDR for a positive Structural/Civil engineer outcome. Inputs from senior members would be very much helpful. If possible, would require some samples for reference. I seriously admire one of our senior members "Sultan Azam" for his dedication towards the forum. Would surely want him to comment here.

Thanks and Regards

Hello,,, i have got the Structural Eng code with a big help from forum members. Initially EA was proposing me as an ENG TECHNOLOGIST as per my CDR, but I modified it and later they offered me the Str. ENG code.

Basically u have to insert the details on what u did in 3 different projects.
If u did this in a proper manner they definitely give u ENG TECH. But your target must be the professional eng as it eases the process. So i m giving you some hints to get the professional eng category.

We have to show the EA that we are having the management skills too. Eg: I inserted some financial management skills .. (price escalation, material ordering time, price)
Also EA likes if we have the understanding of environment impacts.. So insert information about the environmental impact assessment of projects and how u engaged in that etc.. (i inserted some details on EIA, discharging effluent of water treatment plant to environment, discharging levels.. etc )

hope u l get it soon

I have seen a lot of my friends and online forum members apply for Engineer Australia and found that the assessment is largely assessor dependant…some assessors are strict like I had…He asked me for so many things or else asked me to take Technologist…
For some ppl they give Professional engineer easily because the assessor is not strict…Just pray that you get an easy assessor...
If assessor is strict then persistence is key…Don’t accept technologist unless he says last chance…Improve the CDR based on his recommendations and resubmit…I think you get three chances before he gives final decision…
Please don’t ask ppl for their CDR as I made the same mistake…I took a successful outcome CDR and developed my CDR based on that…But my assessor was tough and I had to rewrite again to get my civil engineer outcome…Use Engineers Australia guide for CDR development…All the best

Red face CDR Episodes

Hello mnmedipa,

I am preparing my CDR episodes now and Unfortunately I do not have my undergraduate project reports with me. I have based one episode on my work experience and the 2nd one a mini project. Do you have any advise on my situation ?

I have 3.10 years of work experience in 2 Construction projects. But the roles are almost similar during my position in both projects. Can I write two episodes on my work experience and One on a mini project ?

Please share your opinion.

Udhaya

Hey samani,
I was doin a 4 degree australian accredited civil engineering degree. Im only left to complete one unit. For visa reasons, i meanwhile took bachelor of technology qualification for which i have to use the cdr pathway since its not accredited. Can i get a professional engineering assessment or since my completion letter is of a technologist, il just be able to get a technologist assessment? I have studied for 4 years with just one unit left to complete civil engineering..
