Default Retiring to OZ

Hi All,

First time post in this forum. I didn't see any posts in this regard, but maybe I didn't look everywhere I should.

Anyway, how hard is it to retire to OZ? Can I buy myself in? I do have computer skills (analyst/progrrammer in one incarnation), must I try to work? How good is the health care?

I'd think on marring an Aussie to get in, but present wife would probably frown on that.

Thanks ahead of time for all responses.

-Z

Do you have $750,000 to invest in Australia, taken by the Australian Government to invest. Have an income of $65,000 and assets of $750,000 which you have held for 2 years. And do not need to work in Australia?

If so then yes you can 'buy' a visa that allows you to live in Australia for 4 years. Otherwise no, there is no way to retire in Australia. Most countries did away with retirement visas a long time ago due to the cost of old age and the increasing life span.

If you are skilled you could see if you could find an employer to sponsor you. Though to be waived the age requirement you would need to be very highly skilled, of which can not be found in Australia.

So, I give some Aussie Apparatchik my $750K and he/she does what she wants? Well, I have it but my investment life cannot work that way. On the other hand, I know of one opportunity in OZ where I'd put it down and could possibly make a decent return, thus the reason for my post.

Good info to know though, thanks for the post.

Can the income be from the investment of $750k? Do you need an additional $750k in assets?
