Default Tickets Booked!!

Hi All

Thought i would give an update.

I have not had my start date yet for my new job, i have asked for 5th Jan start the new year and all that. I havent sold the house yet but thinking of renting it out now.

Anyway as ticket prices are on the rise the closer to xmas we get i thought what the hell and i've just booked a one way ticket to Oz!!

So i'm off to Melbourne on the 15th December for one week then off to the Boy Friends family in NSW for Christmas then up to Brisbane for the New Year and start my new job.

After all the stress, visa,j ob, shipping, selling house....booking your ticket makes it real and puts the smile on your face!!

Fantastic news Hels...

This part is soooooo exciting. After all the stuff we have to go through to get this far, it makes it all the sweeter.

Enjoy!

Thanks Dolly

I know it is really exciting....got to admit im a little nervous, ive never booked a one way ticket before.

Two years ago i started my degree to make this happen and it makes all those late 1am nights doing assignments and then having to get up at 5.30am for work...worth while!!

Here's to experiencing a hot sunny xmas for the first time.

It'll start to be real now Hels

That's great news - I'd never booked a one way ticket before either

Last Christmas we had a picnic and then went for a walk on a beach, and I actually went for a paddle! Some Aussies thought we were crazy since they are so used to having sunshine and water!

Regards,
Karen

Wonderful news. I think the most stunning change when you arrive will be the weather. I'm sure you'll appreciate +25 degrees of temp and +4 hours/day more sunshine. Speaking of sunshine make sure you buy some super strong sunscreen as the sun here is fierce, I'm medium in skin tone and I sunburn here in 20 mins (and I've never sunburned anywhere else). Drink lots of water and please DO smell the roses (or jacarandas or jasmine). You'll need to learn to slow down a bit (but I doubt you'll grumble about learning that)

Part of our first christmas last year was spent on the beach. I remember it was flippin hot so to walk on the beach with the sea breeze was wonderful.

Intend on doing the same this year too

Hi

Yes im sure it will be. Last time i went to Oz it was in the November so it was not full summer and it was hot then especially coming from the frost here. I did notice that every australian is very aware of the sun and protection and i was reminded all the time wear your hat, have you got your cream on?? Ha ha luckily i am too and always have to keep slapping the cream on as im fair skinned.

Your right about slowing down, for the last two years everything has been at full pace for me, degree, renovating my house, work.

I have just got my start date this morning and i start work on the 12th January in Brisbane, so i will have a good month off...ah bliss Lots of exploring me thinks!!!
