Hello Folks,

My Indian passport will expire in apr 2013. I have my PR visa until 2016.
I currently live in India. Since It will expire in apr 2013, I wish to transfer Aus PR to the new passport. How can I do this ? Please guide me.

Our UK passports expired with our visa stamp in them. We went back to our local DIAC office and got new stamps put in but apparently now everything is computerised we really didn't need to.

Get it done from VFS or Au embassy in India or carry both passports with you

They now won't put a new sticker in. Contact DIAC via their website and inform them of your new passport number.
Print out your grant email and fly with that and both old and new passport just in case. You will be fine.

Thanks for your reply Shel. I tried locate contact details on DIAC site. Im not sure about it. Do I need to contact the case officer from my grant letter - quoting all details of new passport? Or is there a formal procedure to do these type of changes on DIAC i mean some attaching standard documents from their site. Bcos i have never communicated with DIAC myself. Thanks for your help in adavnce.

One more doubt - I got my visa grant letter based on my Germany Address in may 2011. got my visa sticker from Berlin I moved to india in Nov 2011. I did not
Inform DIAC about the address change, as i had my visa. Also, i did initial entry to Aus in March 2012. (10days). Now i renewed my passport in sep 2012. Should i inform my current residence address also?
