Default trying to move to Australia: PR visa based on GSM 189 subclass, non-ICT degree

Dear Expats,

Do you suggest/guide me here?

My Qualifications:

- Have a Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical engineering which is non-ICT degree
- 6years of full time experience as a Software Configuration Engineer (Developemt Support)
- And age: 29

So I have 55 points for points based test (30: for Age + 15: For degree + 10: for work experience)

I am looking for new PR visa based on GSM subclass 189. Still I need to get at least 5 more points. But I know it is good to score as many points as I can. So I'm planning to score at least a IELTS score of 7. And apply for ACS assement in parallel.

My questions are:

- Will there be any problem with my non-ICT degree?
- Which one I need to apply for ACS assessment?
- Can you give any specific tips in applying for ACS assessment?
- Does taking help of a MARA agent worth it? Will that turn any of my chances?
-

Regards,
Muralee.

Dear Expats,

Please help me answering my questions.

- Do I need to use "RPL" applcation for ACS assement?
- If yes, any suggestions in preparing the projects reports or CV?
- Whom do you refer if I would like to choose a MARA agent in India?

Regards,
Muralee.

hi Muralee,
For work experience assessment you will need to assess yourself in ICT occupation. AS your education is not an ICT education you will need to go via the RPL route.
You can usually google around for sites like
RPLHelp - provides assistance to anyone who is preparing an Australian Computer Society (ACS) Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) application
which will help you with the details on what needs to be included in the RPL.

Usually RPL route for skills assessment requires 2 Project Reports and a detailed description of responsibilities to be documented. if you do not wish to do all the searching around on your own you can always reach out to a MARA Agent for the Skills assessment. This however will cost you atleast 1.5 times the assessment cost.

Hi,

I am sorry for the stupid question, but what do you mean with this "you can always reach out to a MARA Agent for the Skills assessment" ?
I thought only ACS could assess RPL?
