Default Query regarding IELTS, and points for GSM / EOI

Hi All,

I passed my ACS assessment about a month back, and am now in the process of preparing for IELTS.

My agent says I have the following points :

Age 25 30 points
Bachelor Degree 15 points
Work Experience 4 + years 05 points
English (8 for each component) 20 points

I'm a bit concerned about getting 8 for each element of the IELTS, I'm a native speaker, born and bred in the UK, but scoring almost full marks in the IELTS is going to be a challenge for anyone..

If I scored 7 in IELTS, but didn't apply until this time next year, would I automatically get more points from my work experience, since I've been working another year in my field?

Hey ,

I would suggest that you go for IELTS and try for 8 each and even if you get 7 each then your total will be 60.

With 60 points that is the current pass marks by the DIAC you can submit a EOI in the new Skill select system.

And, i would suggest you apply for the State Sponsorship and ,if positive ,with state sponsorship you will get a invite to apply for visa.(it also gives 5 points)

waiting a year will add just 5 points and who know what rules are there for next year , maybe they will change their SOL list or introduce some other tuff new rules

what is your ACS code?

A non-native guy got 9,8,7.5,8... So 8 should be cakewalk for you... Said that, it all depends on how comfortable you are with the language the more you are the better you score.
