Hi Anj,

I am having a hard time understnding the Australian format of Resume. Could you please direct me to some formats? What would be the ideal number of pages for a 9 year experienced Project Manager's resume? I know this question may seem a little silly but what I am trying to understand is do the Australian recruiters/employers like a lean resume?

Thank You so much for all the help you have been providing us here in the forum.

From what I read, it is an improbability that somebody with decent experience and decent communication skills may go jobless for over 3 months. So I will come with family.
There are several things you can to make the chances better to secure the job at the earliest.

1. Ground work/analysis to see the # of openings related to your technology area
2. Search in seek site how many 90K jobs, 100K jobs, 130 K jobs and see the requirement and see for how many jobs you qualify
3. Important: Certifications are cheap in India, use your time to get certifications ( may be range from MCP's, JCP's to PMP)
4. Start liaising with job consultants to check the job market
5. Pick the city where you see more openings and land there.
6. Be Open for contract positions as well Initially

Every step to increase rank of your CV will help to find job at the earliest. So far based on my analysis and check with my friends and other people in the forum thru PM, it doesn't looks too hard to land in a job.

I see from one of your other post, you are highly qualified and in a good position in India, so it shouldn't be too difficult.

You may need to brush up on Interview specific skills if you haven't attended any job interviews for last few years.

I beleive it shouldn't be more difficult to get first job in Auzee compared to getting first job in India.

The main reason is that many employers may not want to wait for me to come back to India, wind up and then join them. They would rather have me join in a fortnight. I might as well use the two weeks with my family in Australia and hunt for houses to rent.

Of course a negative is that expenses will be higher if with family. But I think that is ok. Also, I may feel better job-hunting with my family around rather than doing that being alone.

Any thoughts?
If you got the money to sustain all of them, come with your family.

1. They instill confidence to your already low morale, just in case you don't find a job quickly
2. if your wife is also working, she might find a job before you do,
3. There are lots of things to do after you land. You'll have a helping hand.

Vijay.

Thanks, Auzeebujji. That's encouraging. I hope what you say regarding it being easier to land a job in Oz as compared to India.
