still got 7 months for me before I touch down in Sydney...reason to wait for so long is that I'm aiming to receive my year 2012 work bonus before leaving the company...

Is this the first visit to Australia for everyone? There is nothing to freak out. Or could we just interpret this just being excited?

Hopefully, it's what all of you expect it to be which I'm sure it will be.

Yes, this will be my first time and from the sound of it this will be android's first time too. I think he/she is just excited like Stormgal and I.

If you do decide to go next month let me know and we should meet for coffee or a bite to eat.

lolol, actually, it is kind of scary so I'm still debating! There are little details that we can't forget about, like not being able to use your regular money, you have to change it at the currency exchange. I don't think I want to even think about attempting to take out money from an Australian ATM using a regular debit card from the US.

You know it is always cheaper to order the currency exchange from your bank and sometimes have the funds available next day and is cheaper than exchanging at the airport. I am carrying just enough cash with me in case I need it otherwise I will be using my debit card for purchases since my credit union does not charge me for international purchases or using other banks atm's anywhere in the world. The only fees I may incur at the atm would be from that banks atm I am using.
