Default Applying Skill Assessment again as last one expired

Hi guys,

I have quick question regarding ACS skill assessment for the 2nd time as my last +ve assessment expired due to my laziness.

In 2 years there has been lot of changes in my credentials, I joined a new job 8 months back, got new certifications and renewed my passport. I know I will have to attach my old assessment number in application. if so then I am worried about
  • With renewed passport, passport number is changed by 1 digit. Would this be a problem? Should I attach both passports (old an new one)?
  • Do I have to get references of all previous companies again?
  • How much time it would take for the 2nd time? They already verified my experience and education before. Would this be a benefit?
  • Has anything in particular changed in the process of ACS except that process is purely online now and they dont need certified copies by post any more.

Hi,
[*]With renewed passport, passport number is changed by 1 digit. Would this be a problem? Should I attach both passports (old an new one)?

Yes better to attach copies of both passports. They would probably see the expiry date of the old passport so it won't be an issue.
[*]Do I have to get references of all previous companies again?

As per ACS guidelines you only need to provide documents relating to the dates after the old assessment was granted. However if possible attach the service letter from your previous employer. also check whether they still have your old documents , if not re-attach them again.
[*]How much time it would take for the 2nd time? They already verified my experience and education before. Would this be a benefit?

Not so sure about the exact timelines these days but your previous assessment will be a definite benefit. they will not asses the time period which has been covered by your old assessment again but will only asses from there onwards.
[*]Has anything in particular changed in the process of ACS except that process is purely online now and they dont need certified copies by post any more.

I too got my second assessment done this March. during that time we were still required to send hard copies but now the process is purely online.

Thanks for the quick respond.

Yes, I got the updated reference letter from last employer that covers the complete employment period.

Just about to get reference letter from current employer too. This would add 2 years back to back from last assessment.

Thanks.

I am at the same boat as you are.

I get a a employer reference from my employer. This is exactly the same copy as they gave me two years earlier. Only change is name of supervisor has been changed. Is it a problem?

I dont think it is going to be the problem. As my supervisor is changed too. So reference letter is exactly the same except Date of letter, working to date, supervisor name and signature.
