Where in Sydney for a young family?

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on areas that are good for my husband and I with a 7 month old. We do want to be where it's happening but not slap bang in the city. Someone has reccomeded bondi or north bondi to us, what are your views?

Ideally we would Love a 3 bed with outside area as we will be bringing a small dog, I was also looking at Netural Bay. Budget up to about $780 a week.

Husband will be at work every day, so u would love somewhere that other young mums are with good baby groups, that kind of thing.
