Default 2 people from UK - Marriage in Australia?

Hi there,

My girlfriend and I entered Australia in January on working holiday visas. Since this time, we have become engaged and are interested in getting married while we stay here in Australia. We had discussed getting married back in the UK, but have family arriving in August and would prefer if we could have the ceremony here during their visit. We have read about the required time periods for this application, and this is of no issue to us.

Having done some research, we have uncovered the need for a notice of intended marriage form to be completed, and also for us to present our British passports.

Is there anything else we would need to present / complete to be eligible to get married here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My fiancé has dual citizenship for the UK and the United States. We are ultimately looking to settle in the US, so will the marriage in Australia provide a valid marriage certificate that the United States will recognise?

Thanks!
