Default Questions about Visa 457 timeline

Hi,

I'm wondering about Visa 457 timeline. I applied an Australian visa via agent since last month. I'll be working in Australia as part of my company's rotation, so I already have a sponsor. The agent lodged my application on May 8th 2012 and finished my x-ray on May 16th 2012. Since then, I have not heard anything from my agent. I asked him about my visa progress but he said that the CO did not contact him, so he assumed that no additional information's needed. I, personally, a little bit worried because what I gave him for supporting documents were less than required (I only gave him documents mentioned by him). Those documents were :
• Passport biodata pages
• Detailed résumé
• Certificates of all relevant educational qualifications
• In liue of a formal qualifications, formal written employment reference

I've checked several websites about documents required but I'm sure my docs did not complete yet, that's why I'm confused on how to contact the CO, since my agent said that he did not get any request from the CO.

My visa status:
Application 457 Business Long Stay Primary
08/05/2012 Application received - processing commenced
08/05/2012 Application fee received
11/05/2012 Application being processed further
Person 1
11/05/2012 Further information required
17/05/2012 Health requirements finalised
16/05/2012 Further medical results received
16/05/2012 Further medical results received

I'd really appreciate if someone can give me some ideas about this status.

Cheers,
Genks

Hey,

I am living in Australia on a 457 visa and what you have provided is exactly what I provided. So I believe what you have provided is sufficient.

My visa took about 7 weeks.

All the best

I am also in same situation. My employer applied for the e457 through an imm agent in Australia on 9 th of may 2012.I am still waiting for the approval.

09/05/2012 Application received
15/05/2012 Application being processed further
29/05/2012 Health requirements finalised
12/06/2012 Further Information received

I have submitted most of the relevant documents including police clearance certificate on the day one.

On DIAC website they mentioned that the time line will be 2 months for Low risk countries and 3 months for high risk countries. Now i am in the 7 th week.

Hope and wish the visa will be approved soon.......

The timelines of 457 are extremely variable. My 457 was approved within a day after I uploaded the proof of health insurance(you need to do that for a 457 now). My spouse's was approved in 5 weeks. You can keep checking the status with ur TRN number to understand where the application is.

Hi Genkasik,

Like someone mentioned in this thread , its really variable . Different people have had different responses. I guess it boils down to luck depending on the departments load . I am sure the approval for your visa will be done in sometime now or maybe you already have your approval As regards the documentation your provided it seems sufficient. My Hubby's MA ( A very renowned law firm) has asked for only these documents that you have stated.

We have strated a thread here for 457 Visa timelies 2012. If you post your queries and timelines there, it would be really helpful for the others who are in a similar situation.

Good Luck and keep us posted
