Hi Nazib,

How good are the photocopies?
I had originals so I'm not sure what the answer is to that question - other than consult an agent.

Regards,
Karen

Is there any chance you could go to your past employers and ask them for fresh reference letters / certificates from the time you were employed?

Still, if they haven't completely disappeared from the face of the earth and if you haven't burned any bridges, you should be able to get them from their HR Dept.

Keep in mind that only DIAC can with 100% certainty answer your question whether copies will be a problem for them. Ask them.

Hi Nazib

a good photocopy certified as a true copy of the original by a lawyer is acceptable. Please check the requirements for lawyers who fall under the category of people who can certify documents. I'm not sure if there are different grades of lawyers who can certify documents.

Another way will be to scan the photocopy you have if that's a good copy and apply online, if the visa type you are applying for can be applied online....

Hope this helps. And good luck

And the answer is that nobody besides DIAC will be able to give you a correct answer with 100% certainty.

If you file online, DIAC asks for scanned images of the original document. If you do a paper filing, notarized copies are requested. Whether or not one notarized by a lawyer will probably depend on your country also.

It's just best to ask DIAC, see this: General Skilled Migration Pre-Lodgement Enquiry Form

That's very true. Send DIAC a mail or even give them a ring. There is a visa pre-logdement service and they are very helpful
