first of all, CONGRATS. You are almost there
As you can see the timelines in some of our signatures, it usually takes just a few days for visa grant after meds/pcc received by CO.

Hi All,

I'm landing in Melbourne on the 7th of July. Will be staying with relatives initially until I secure my own accommodation. Wife will join me after I settle down. I'm in IT and will be trying to set up interview within 3-4 days of my arrival.
All the best!!

happ, imrancrest,ozway and ereryone else..

All the best for your big move!! which airlines have you booked your tickets with and which cities are you leaving from? How much money are you carrying? I am planning to take abt 11-12 AUD also carrying my indian credit cards as well just in case if required.

Also how many of you have already started with the job search? I have started contacting recruiters and they have so far given a positive response.. would be meeting the recruiters in the first week after landing.

Hi Happ, my skill is General Manager, and my wife is a Early Childhood Teacher/Child care coordinator. Planing to hunt a job on arrival and start what ever comes my way.
Any particular area that you will be moving in to?

We thought of being half an hour- one hour, away from CBD in a area where schools are around probably in East Melbourne.

Live West. You get twice as much for your money and you don't have to put up with horrendous traffic jams and crowded trains. Point Cook is a nice area about 20 minutes drive from the CBD and is full of very pleasant people from overseas and their families. The western suburbs have a bit of a stigma with those people born and bred in Melbourne. So let them enjoy their one bedroom apartment for the same price as your three bedroom house! :-)
