Default online visa applications

Anyone who has applied online for visa 175 and been allocated their visa or CO yet? If so how long did it take? Seems quicker than paper applicaton!

there are lots of people here who hv applied online, it takes close to one year post the filing of application. 10 months or so for the CO to be allotted and about two months for the rest of the process. normally they say that the online application takes one month less than the paper applications. But my lawyer confirmed that there is not much of difference in both

You can always check the trusty timeline website and check on how other applications are going.

I tend to believe that online applications are going faster. I've applied for a 175 visa and if you check the processing information for this visa type, you will see that online applications being processed are at 3 December 2007 whereas paper lodged applications are at 12 October 2007.

That's quite a significant difference. I would advise you to look at the online application for your visa type before deciding which way to go.

Anj, the automagic e-mail I got after application states:

Information on processing is updated weekly and can be obtained by sending a blank email to: aspc.processing@immi.gov.au

Hi Anj, you are right. They seem to be moving faster lately after having been stuck for ages on the 21st November for online apps. The status of applications being processes is updated every Tuesday by the department.

So if you shoot a blank mail every Wednesday to that address, u get an update every week. Cool hey

June seems like a reasonable timeline. Good luck with everything. I applied on the 11th August 2008. We'll probably land in Oz around the same time...

Cheers

For anyone interested, the status of application processing has been updated. It's moving slowly but surely now. At least there's progress being made

For more details, send a blank mail to aspc.processing@immi.gov.au.
