Default Employment gap

Hi Guys,

I have the 8+ years IT experience excluding my 11 months gap in my employment with Non-IT(MCom) acadamic background.

My experience as software engineer is from 2003 February to till date.
However, I had an employment gap from November 2009 to September 2010.

Does it really matter to go for ACS?. Please suggest.

Their requirement is 4/6 years in last 10 years and 12 months in last 24 months.. If there is a gap in your employment history they do not include it i the experience letter but do not maek a big deal about it as long as you meet the minimum experience requirement

Hi guys.. i dont know if i need your advice or something to ease my worries. Please give some comments how I should go about my situation; I was not aware of the employment gap before I submitted my 175 application on 30th June. I took a break from work to study for another degree on Aug, 2010 and Im currently studying and will be finished by this year 2012. You see.. I paid almost 3000 for that application and just now I realize this fact... Any comments or words of advice???

the requirement is 12 months in last 24 months at the time of the application, which means when you applied at that time you should meet the criteria

Is this condition of recent experience still valid? I think they have removed this requirement from July 2012,

Yes, this conditions has been removed for applicants who apply post July 2012. However, for anyone who applied for a visa prior to the introduction of Skill Select, then the requirements that were in place at the time they applied for their visa, would still be valid and would be applied by the CO when they assess their case.

Really???? but you see I quit my job on Aug 2010 and I applied on 30 June 2012, so in the last 24 months, I had worked for just about 2 months. What do you guys think?

Unfortunately, as you applied pre-July 2012, you do need to comply with the requirements of having 12 months experience out of the last 24 months preceding your visa application.

The onus is on the applicant to make sure that they comply with all the visa requirements and in cases where you do not, the unfortunate reality, is a visa refusal.
