Default Which Websites Show H1B Jobs?

Hi,

I am very keen to move to the USA. I have a bachelors degree and 7 years experience in the I.T. industry and so I believe the best option is for me to find a company that will sponsor me with an H1B visa.

However I am having a real hard time finding websites that display all available H1B jobs, and when I have checked with more obvious companies such as Microsoft I have found no indication of any H1B jobs being offered. More than likely I am missing something, but I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction with some links to websites showing all H1B job opportunities and/or a list of companies offering H1B jobs.

Thanks very much,

Stuart

I do NOT endorse this site: Work Visa Solution: H1B Visa, H1B Visa Sponsor, Visa Jobs, Green Card, Immigration Attorney | MyVisajobs.com

But it seemed quite interesting when I saw it the other day. Caveat emptor!

I would be very very wary of any list of supposed "H1B" jobs. I used to work for a computer company in Silicon Valley that hired plenty of folks on H1B visas. But there was no list of H1B jobs per se. A job was posted and if the company couldn't find a qualified citizen or permanent resident after a certain amount of time, they widened their search to include foreigners with "unique" qualifications, though the job was hardly restricted to those seeking H1B visas.

At any time, if the employer can find someone local or already qualified to work in the US, they will take the cheap and easy way out - even if they wind up hiring someone technically a little less qualified.
Cheers,
Bev

Stuart,

Consider going at your search from the "back end." Rather than search for employers who will sponsor you for H1B visa, search for jobs that do not require U.S. citizenship. If an employer does not specifically state "must be U.S. citizen" (usually seen in ads for positions that require security clearance), it may be open to sponsorship.

On the other hand, please keep abreast of changes in our economy here in the U.S. With so many people out of work, few employers are willing to invest the time and resources necessary to H1B sponsorship. There are so many people out of work throughout the U.S., employers are redefining the parameters of their search for talent.

Keep in mind that a B.S./B.A. plus experience may not distinguish you from others in the U.S., thereby making your qualifications not enough to justify an advanced degree exception for sponsorship.

I certainly don't mean to discourage you in any way; however, I speak from the eyes of an HR professional with many years of experience. I understand both the strategic and transactional nature of recruitment, staffing and all the other HR disciplines.

Finally, have you tried DICE for IT jobs? I think one of the search features permits applicants to deselect citizenship, so your search would produce results that do not require citizenship.

Good luck in your search and future move!

Debbie
