Default Employers with clearance to employ foreign workers as Substance Abuse Clinician in NY

Thank you in advance for anyone that can give me any leads to services that have clearance to employ foreign nationals in New York City as Substance Abuse Clinician/Counselors.

Ive applied for several posts and found out a few weeks ago that employers need to have clearance to employ foreign nationals. Since then I have targeted hospitals thinking they would be employing medical staff as foreign nationals given the high demand in that sector.

Would appreciate any leads. Thank you kindly, Leah

Clearance by whom?

This post makes no sense to me.

I don't believe there is a blanket sort of "clearance to hire foreigners" for employers in the US. Each case has to be decided on its own merits - usually based on the lack of available locals with the necessary qualifications (and that the employer has attempted to fill the job opening for a certain minimum period of time without success).

I know of some hospitals that are pretty aggressive in hiring foreign doctors, but generally those are hospitals in areas where recruitment has been difficult for some time.
Cheers,
Bev

Thank you for your query.

What I need is information from medical staff who work in New York City who know of the hospitals that employ foreign nationals in their Substance Abuse Departments. Like the Rooseveldt Hospitals for example.

I realize this is quite specialized information that only medical staff who login to this site may know.

Thank you for your time, regards, Leah

Unless there is a strictly defined national security consideration for the post, no employer can discriminate between a "foreigner" or citizen -- that's federal law. You are either authorized to work (i.e. can meet the requirements of the I9) or you are not. Hence you will see that posts never ask about your citizenship, only whether you are authorized to work in the US. Any hospital doing otherwise would open itself up to the very heavy hand of the EEOC and civil damages.

Are you looking rather for a hospital to sponsor a work visa for such a post?
