My husband is 36 and when he was 18 got changed with assault in south Africa . Will this hinder our application? We are in final stages just need to fax through paper to say we have all documents at hand?

he will need all the documents he can get relating to the charge

Unfortunately he doesn't have any documents it was almost 20 years ago. He know remembers bec it is on the police record needed with the documents

It is part of his background. He will have to provide the necessary documentation. This may set you back a bit. Please do not forget that this question will come up at US job applications and should he apply for US citizenship.

Documents showing the charge and punishment spent. its over twenty years ago so i wouldnt worry about documents.

But make sure you state this charge on all forms when asked and by immergration
