Unless you've got US citizenship or a claim on a visa with work privileges, I wouldn't hold my breath. Sponsoring a foreigner for a work visa is something of a hassle for any employer. Most public schools can't do a sponsorship in any event. A private school might be able to swing something, but they'd have to be highly motivated.
There may be some opportunity as part of a formal teacher exchange program. If that's your case, I hope it goes well for you.
Cheers,
Bev
^ That's right! Especially in Texas. The golden charm for a teacher in many states is to be bilingual. If no qualified Yank presented himself at as a prospect, and if you were bilingual, they might find a way to get you in. No way in any country I know of would an employer hire a foreigner to do the work of a national, unless the employee pool was dried up. I've know a few Brits who got gigs where British accents were a major part of the job description, like radio, TV, voice-overs, etc. See, that's something we Yanks can't do.
