Talking help please

Hi there,

I read a very useful post the other day and for the life of me I cannot find it. It was regarding a visa for the states, fiance visa, it led me to a page where I have to fill my details in and get it signed by an official (ie policeman) and it is for police records on myself. I send it off and they (the police) send it back to me and I take it to the Embassy with me, can anyone help please.

thanks
Sam

Where are you coming from? The police record document you need to apply for a US visa is something that normally comes from your national police force. (It's something of an issue for those from the US who need such a document since there is no national police for the US. Americans have to get a police report from the FBI.)

Perhaps someone else here on the forum will recall the post you are looking for.
Cheers,
Bev

I see by looking through your other posts that you are British. You'll need to order a "police certificate" from: Association of Chief Police Officers

Do note that this is a new system. Previously, you could order a certificate from your local police -- but the US Consulate in London no longer accepts these.

If you've lived in ay other countries for more than 6 months, you'll also probably need a certificate from them, too.
