wanting to move to USA advice needed please!

Hi everyone this is my first post on here so excuse me if I seem totally clueless!

Ive met a wonderful man - only problem is that Im a UK citizen and he's a US citizen. We want to marry and live together in the US but Im worried about the process of me moving over there.

I have a caution from 1992 (when I was 12 years old!) for shoplifting from a dept store - stupid I know but I was a child. And during my divorce in 2006 my ex husband decided to be vindictive and have me arrested for harassment, which was a total fabrication and the police told him off for wasting their time. He also ran me into so much debt that I had to declare myself bankrupt.
So im worried that having two arrests on my file and being an ex bankrupt will ruink my chances of moving to the US to be with my intended, can anyone give me advice on whether Im worrying over nothing or if my worries are valid?

Its such a complicated proceedure to immigrate, I dont want to start it all just to find out ill be denied entry to the US.

Anyones thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
