getting my dog to the US

i am living in the netherlands and we are trying to get info on what kinds of shots our dog will need for the US? i have asked the consulate and they couldnt help me. our vet says he knows what our dog needs but i want to make sure everything is right before we get to the airport and find out he didnt get something.

Click on APHIS veterinary services pet imports.

This will get you all the details. Otherwise contact your airline. Please do not forget to book your dog as far in advance as possible.

I think in the Netherlands you are part of the European Pet Passport scheme?

As such you will need:

1. Pet Passport
2. Rabies Injection
3. Blood test confirming above was successful
4. Tick and Flea treatment certified in the Pet Passport 24 hours before travel
5. Certification in the Pet Passport that your dog is fit to travel.

That is what we have in place for our dog at the moment.

This should ensure that your dog will not have to face quarantine at your point of entry.

thank you for the help. we do have an european passport and that is pretty much what our vet has told us.
