Default How long is it taking to get citizenship

Hi all

My husband is from New Zealand and I am American. We are moving to NZ next April but have just now decided to get USA citizenship for him. We have been living in the US and married for 8 years so I know he fits the qualifications.

Has anyone recently gone through the process? How long did it take you? I am wondering if we can get this done before we move.

Thanks.

Mine took about 3 months from completing the form to going to the interview. Hubbies took 6 months to do the same.

So 3 to 6 months?

About the same. Make sure all documentation is in perfect order. Have his US passport application including pictures ready to drop off as soon as he had his swearing in.

I'm going through the process now. I filed the application based on 5 years GC.
I put in the application at the start of July, had my biometrics last week, and according to the USCIS website, I might just get it in time to vote in November.

The USCIS website is great for updates, you can register as soon as you receive a reciept from them, and keep up with your case....

Also...US Immigration Forums is a mine of information.
