We have received our receipt from Vermont service centre and according to the USCIS we are "in processing" on their time line they have give an estimate of 5 months from receipt to finalisation. Can anyone tell me what the next step is - I'm so confused and my husband in the US is just as bad. Will they contact him or myself in England for further information.

I am being sponsored by close family friends in the states as my husband is studying and not working at the moment.

What if our application just sits in processing and they forget about us? is there anyway I can find out what is happening? I don't want to pester them but am just so anxious to get stuff moving?

Many thanks

You can't get things moving - you just have to wait. A 5 month timeline is about standard.
