Default UK citizen working in US from home

Hey guys,

Just a random question that I can't find answers to online, I am working & living in the UK, I am a UK citizen and I am interested in moving to the USA.

Knowing how difficult simply moving out there is, I was quite interested in a temporary 3-month stay to "try it out" first, and to see how I get on, then I can make some more serious life decisions based on how I felt the 3 months went.

However, I would like to continue to working while I'm out there. I work from home, I am a website developer with full time employment and salary. The company is fine with me moving wherever as long as I have a laptop & online connection - but what are the laws & legal parts about doing this on a temp 3 month basis?

I hope someone can help.

Thanks!

There is no 3-months-test-drive visa.
You produce goods/service and receive compensation which is work which requires the appropriate visa. Easy to access details regarding various visa categories and types are on travel.state.gov which is an official US government site.
