Smile Hoping to emigrate to the US

Hi everyone,
This is our first time on this forum. ~We're hoping to get as much info as poss to help us realise our dream of moving to America. We've done quite a lot of research up to now and it seems to be really difficult to get a green card. At the moment it seems our only chance is to enter the diversity lottery programme. As my country of birth is not the UK, but is one of the eligible countries I have started to complete the application. Has anyone done this on the usagcls site and had any success, Is it necessary to pay a fee to do this as they are asking for my credit card details to pay for their support with the process. I would really appreciate any advice anyone has or any success stories.
Bye for now,
Hippy Chix

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I wouldn't bother with any site that asks for a fee to apply for the diversity lottery. It's just as easy to do it yourself. All it takes is a scanner to scan and send in the necessary documents. If and when you win a spot, then you pay the fees for processing your application - but those are the same fees you would have to pay anyhow.
Cheers,
Bev

Thanx Bev for your advice, I was considering paying as some sites advise that the process can be difficult and if you get anything wrong you can invalidate your application. I don't want to leave anything to chance and risk messing it up. But I hear what your saying and may go it alone! I would really love to hear from someone who has been successful in winning this green card lottery.

Only site worth using is the official, free one here:Electronic Diversity Visa Lottery

Leaving stuff to chance involves using dubious sites that charge you IMHO!

everybody knows how difficult it is to enter the USA. I've been trying to find work in the US ever since graduating University last year. Thats why im considering an Internship in the USA to enhance my chances in stayin but depends if I will enjoy my time there. Ive been offered an 18 month intern which im considering but i know this will prove to be a great move in order to gain valuable working experience in the tough market.
