Hi Colin,

Welcome to the forum.

As far as I'm aware your financial situation has nothing to do with your visa.

HOWEVER even on a permanent visa you are NOT entitled to benefits here so you must make sure that you have enough money to sustain for a few months (at the very least) when you get out here.

The economy is changing here and it's getting harder to get jobs so factor that into your finances.

I would hate for you to move over and find yourself in a worse position financially!

As usual when in doubt check with an agent (SOMV, Alan Collett, pc, Liana Allan) and let us know how you got on....
