That's the way I understood it as well - the moment I land, day 1 starts based on the time and date.
So, me landing 22:10 on the 31st of July and getting stamped let's say 23:00 means that on the 1st of August at 23:01 day 2 will start. By that it also means that on the 21st of August when I leave at 18:30 I am leaving on day 21.
Worst case I just wait for 1 August 00:01 and then get stamped.
