IS there any awareness of this allergy in the country ?

Wow, well hopefully someone from Mexico will be able to contribute, but my nephew in the UK has a peanut allergy and even there he has to be very very careful. Hes been caught out on more than one occasion and its a scary thing. He carries medication with him which is injected if anything happens. They dont eat out much as even in the UK you can never be completely sure.

My point is that I doubt if it will be any safer in Mexico (probably less so) and you will need to take all the precautions necessary
